Granola Bars

Homemade granola bars offer a delicious and nutritious snack option that can be customized to suit individual tastes and dietary preferences. These bars typically consist of a base mixture made from rolled oats, nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, bound together with a sweetener such as honey, maple syrup, or nut butter. Additional ingredients like chocolate chips, coconut flakes, or spices can be added for extra flavor and texture. The mixture is pressed into a baking dish, baked until golden and firm, then cooled and cut into bars. Homemade granola bars are not only simple to make but also allow for full control over ingredients, making them a healthier alternative to store-bought varieties. They are perfect for on-the-go snacking, hiking trips, or as a quick breakfast option.

  • Pour the contents of the sheet pan into a mixing bowl. The pour the honey mixture into the dry ingredients. Put any other ingredients you would like to have in your granola bars, except chocolate. Wait until mixture is cool to the touch before adding chocolate otherwise it will melt.
  • Butter your 23 x 23cm pan to ensure easy release of your granola bars. Pour your granola mixture in and make sure it is spread evenly to all sides. Once it's even press down either with your hands or the bottom of a glass, or something solid. We press them hard which makes a denser granola bar, but if you would rather have something less dense, don't press as hard.
  • Place granola bars into the fridge for an hour to harden, remove and cut them to a size that works for your family and enjoy.
